Solving Asymmetric Travelling Salesman Problem using Memetic Algorithm
Memetic Algorithms have been proven to be successful to find the nearest optimum solution to hard combinatorial optimization problems. In this paper, Memetic algorithm is designed for Asymmetric Traveling salesman problem (ATSP). Memetic Algorithm is a combination of power of Genetic algorithm with the powerful local search technique to focus on the population of local optima. Because of perfor...
متن کاملComputing the integrality gap of the asymmetric travelling salesman problem
This extended abstract outlines the results of our investigations into the integrality gap of the Asymmetric Travelling Salesman Problem for small values of n. Specifically, we have computed the exact integrality gap for 4 ≤ n ≤ 7 and we have found a lower bound on the integrality gap for 8 ≤ n ≤ 15. We have also created a new family of extreme points based on our data for which the integrality...
متن کاملApproaches to the Travelling Salesman Problem Using Evolutionary Computing Algorithms
Genetic algorithms (GAs) were developed as problem independent search algorithms (Goldberg, 1989; Holland, 1975; Man et al., 1999), which simulate the biological evolution to search for an optimal solution to a problem. Figure 1(a) shows the main processes of genetic algorithms. When developing a genetic algorithm, we analyze the properties of the problem and determine the “gene encoding” polic...
متن کاملA hybrid metaheuristic using fuzzy greedy search operator for combinatorial optimization with specific reference to the travelling salesman problem
We describe a hybrid meta-heuristic algorithm for combinatorial optimization problems with a specific reference to the travelling salesman problem (TSP). The method is a combination of a genetic algorithm (GA) and greedy randomized adaptive search procedure (GRASP). A new adaptive fuzzy a greedy search operator is developed for this hybrid method. Computational experiments using a wide range of...
متن کاملA Marriage in Honey Bee Optimisation Approach to the Asymmetric Travelling Salesman Problem
In the travelling salesman problem (TSP), a travelling salesman completes a tour of “n” number of cities by stopping once in each city and completes the tour by returning to his starting point, while minimizing the distance and the cost. The asymmetric travelling salesman problem (ATSP) is the problem in which the cost of travel from city A to B is different from that from B to A. Marriage in H...
